We have had a 2008 xc70 wagon for years and love it. Our son had an accident with it and it was technically total but we salvaged it. Now it seems like its leaking somewhere - the front by the pedals gets a lot of water in (when it rains?) and now the computers aren't reliable. I don't know anything about cars but I am not willing to give up yet! We have made so many memories in this car and I would like to get it fixed and carry on but the rest of my family is losing hope and ready to throw in the towel. Can anyone offer any tips re how to fix this? Thanks!

 

I'm sorry for your troubles. Being someone who owned a shop and repaired these cars for 40 years I would always advise customers to not buy back their cars after they have been totaled. Stuff like this happens and it's very frustrating - the car looks great on the outside - but as you have found out there can be difficult problems to solve.

You problem is fixable - may be very expensive if control units are getting wet, and it may not be the last hard to solve/expensive problem.

How to fix - spend XXXX, or perhaps let it go. Sorry for your loss.
