Hi, I have read that the rear pads on my 08 xc70 are tough to do as you have to release the ebrake electronically to allow the pistons t be pushed back.
Is it possible to just release the brake and turn off the ignition and proceed or am I oversimplifying the job.
I have the vida dice programming but it would be simpler to not use it unless necessary.

If you have VIDA and a DiCE, just use it to put the parking brake into service mode. If that isn't simple enough, I don't know what is. It could have been done in the time you took to write that post and wait for a reply.

 

There are other ways toco do it but using ViDA is the simplest.
