2009 xc70 Turns over, won't start intermittently
Hi,
I am looking for some advice regarding my 2009 xc70 diesel which has intermittent starting issues. The car turns over and sounds normal but won't fire. This happens randomly, sometimes it starts without issue.
It has been acting this way for 6 months now, Ive had it into my local Volvo dealership and they have now replaced 3 fuel pumps and most recently the cars computer. The issue still persists.
Has anyone experienced a similar problem? Any thoughts or advice?
Thanks,
Brandon

Just to follow up in case anyone else has the same issue.
After the 3 fuel pumps and a new computer the dealership said they found a wire shorting out or grounding and said they fixed it. Volvo wouldnt give me any money back for the previous failed repairs (I should have asked to keep the original computer). So far, fingers crossed the wiring issue seems to have resolved the problem.

Had same problem with 1999 xv70 fixed!
Ray's Auto Center in Tacoma, WA found the cause.
There is a thermostat tied into the ignition/pollution circuit.
Mine was reading too high for the computer to allow the car to start.
The total repair came to less than $150.
Ray's telephone number is 253 582 3900.
It didn't require any software or other hardware updates of any kind to fix it completely!
My car is a 1999 V70 Sport Wagon XC.
