The radio in my '11 XC70 does not like the 104.5 FM frequency. Whether I use a preset button to play 104.5, any preset button, or I manually tune to 104.5, it plays for 15 seconds or so, then goes to silent for 20-25 seconds. Then it returns and plays for 5-10 seconds, then goes silent, then returns. The same silence/return cycle occurs whether I use a preset button, or whether I manually tune 104.5. All other presets & stations play correctly with no silence/return cycle. This radio just doesn't want me listening to Rock & Roll - NPR is OK, so life is still bearable.

 

Have you try to change that station to other preset button? If you did and it still do the same, it must be station frequency, if you preset other station to that same button and it still do the same that button is loose contact.

 

Maybe 104.5 is just a weak station in your area. Do you have another car that you can try the same things with 104.5 that you did in the XC70?
