My 05 xc70 boot lid won't unlock with the key fob unlock or boot release button. It also won't open with the Interior unlock button.

It will lock with no issues.

However it does unlock when press and holding the yellow button on the keyfob. This stops it from being lockable until the yellow button is pressed again and the lights turned off. So the mechanism and solenoid are working but just not playing ball 🤷

Anyone had this issue?

Had a similar issue with my '04 XC70. I had a trailer lighting cable coming out from the tire well, and it apparently got stuck in the lock mechanism in the center. Last time that happened, some "thing" got jammed in the lock mechanism. So I pushed it closed as far as I could muscle and then tried to pull out the jamming item, while pulling on the release lever. It seemed to work each time this happened. Use a bright light to inspect what is jamming it.
