Default Changing spark plugs, is this a doit yourself job?

For a person with just average mechanical skills?
I have a 2004 XC70 non turbo.
Also, my car seems to have very slight hiccups at highway speed when the A/C is running? None when air is off.
Volvo dealership did not find any codes, and told me its probably the plugs?
Whats your opinion before I either try to change the plugs out, or have someone do it for 200.00 (estimate given)

Thanks in advance

Its not too hard. Probably 30 or 40 minutes for a DIYer.

All XC70s are turbo, FYI

You need an allen key to remove the engine plastic cover, then a long socket with extension to remove the spark plugs. The plugs could be hard to remove, go carefully, with cold engine.

Not sure about the hiccups, could be the plugs, could be something else. If I remember well, worn out plugs would cause acceleration lag even at low city speed.

Have a look at the alternator (charging voltage), and to the auxiliary belt and pulleys.

I ended up buying Champion RC8PYP-8 for the car. Do you know if these are gapped correctly already, or what gap should I be shooting for on these plugs? 0.028 mm?

Thanks

I think you mean .028 in, which would be correct.

Yes I did, thanks. Not a car mechanic by any means, but have been around enough to do most DYI projects. (on older cars)

Thank you again
