Got a 2009 xc70...now what?
OK...bought a 2009 XC70...41,000 miles...CPO. What do I need to do to keep this thing in tip-top shape? Besides regular oil/filter changes, do I need to consider tranny fluid changes? What else? This car has to last me a lifetime...
Alan,
Sorry, I'm of no help to you - but I'm kind of in the same boat, or Volvo!
Getting ready to buy a 2003 XC70 with about 95,000 miles on it. I posted a thread a few days ago if anybody knew of any known issues, especially when it comes to maintenance. My husband is pretty handy with cars, but since this is going to be our first Volvo, we'd like to get some info.
Good luck - hope you'll get some replies!
Susanne

Hi there! I recently bought a 2002 XC70 wagon, 82K miles, and I too plan on keeping it for a loooong time! I found this list of suggested maintainence based on mileage that I've been referring to and working my way through as I have the funds. Routine Maintenance Schedules at Swedish Auto Parts
I just had her checked out by my mechanic and he said that the front end stuff does start to wear out around 80-90K: meaning the control arms, bushings, shocks, struts, tie rods, etc. Keeping it in alignment, checking tread wear and pressure on your tires, and having the brakes done regularly will help prevent costly front end and suspension issues down the road. Also, tranny flush needs to be done around 60K. I was also warned to start saving $$ now for a new tranny around 150K miles, maybe later if I keep up on the flushes.
HTH! I've been meaning to toss a pic of my wagon up here on the forums...post one of yours, too!

In the same boat just bought a 2009 CPO with 21,000mi on it. Not my first volvo ( before we had a baby I had a 2008 C30 2.0) and a Passat W8 in between.
