Thinking about buying this '06 XC70 with 120K -- advice?
I am on the verge of pulling the trigger on a 2006 XC70 with 120K on the odometer. Carfax and maintenance records are squeaky clean, I also spoke to the dealership that did all the maintenance and they confirmed the accuracy of the records. It has been garaged and meticulously maintained. I test drove it and it went like a top.
So far so good. Now the part that I wonder about is what I could expect in the next 80-100K miles of its lifetime. Do these cars tend to start making frequent visits to the repair shop in the 120-200K zone? I have heard that Volvos are costly to repair and maintain, but I'm just trying to prognosticate how much maintenance and how many repairs this one will likely need in the second half of its life.
Are there typical mechanical/maintenance issues that these cars have over the 120K mark? I've heard a few anecdotes from XC 70 owners that I know, but I'd like to hear from more folks here.
Any general thoughts or advice would be very much appreciated.

I have two, one I love and one I hate. lots of trouble with the latter and no real help from the dealer. have about $1700 trying to fix the car that went into limp mode. got that done but still have a check engine light that will not turn off or comes right back on.
best regards.

best regards.
