Default Veering under braking

My 2005 XC70 (same body shape as the V70) tends to veer to the left under braking. It's not severe and it feels as if the power steering corrects it without my input. It is more pronounced at speeds over 60mph and hardly detectable below 40mph. I've had the alignments, tyres and brakes checked and my local garage has so far failed to diagnose the problem. In all other respects the car drives perfectly. Any suggestions?

When I had that symptom one of my control arm bushings was worn. It was causing my car to dip slightly to the left like I hit a tiny patch of ice.
