Trailer Hitch Motorcycle Carrier
Greetings from a newbie making his first post.
I have a 2012 XC70 and would like to carry a motorcycle in a hitch rack. The combined weight of the bike and carrier is a bit less than 500 lbs.
I read that the max allowable tongue weight is 165 lbs. when pulling a trailer. I don't know what determines this limit, perhaps the standard Volvo hitch. Or something else?
I have a full machine shop and can fabricate any kind of hitch, assuming there's frame anywhere in the neighborhood.
Anyone have any experience with carrying weights like this on the back of Volvos?
Thanx, guys!
