what brand/type sparkplugs- 2012 3.2L ?
I'm a big fan of using OEM Volvo. They come pre-gapped and match your model's ignition type. Try shopping a Volvo friendly store like IPD or FCP or a Volvo dealer store like Tasca Parts to get a discount off list. To me its not worth trying to save $5 for a part that is gonna last 60K+ miles (meaning the rest of your car's life) and there's really no performance advantage for high tech plugs that may be the wrong heat range or size.
I've only done it on an 850T which requires a special tool to release the tensioner - its a flat bar with what looks like a 5/8 inch square on the end. Newer Volvos use a more standard tool but check ICP or FCP for a tool specific to your engine. Not much room by the nose of the engine for standard tools. I'm sure there is a RobertDIY video on Youtube or similar (FCP posts a lot of blog vids too). When you release the tension the belt can slide off the idlers and pop out. You can find a diagram either on a sticker under the hood or online. Once the belt is off, check the idlers and accessories for any play or grinding (ie worn out bearings) and replace anything suspect.
