Default Xc70 2005 strange wire in boot

I have a 2005 xc70, I was in the boot the other day looking at the spare wheel and saw this wire sticking out of the bumper into the boot well. Please can someone inform me what this is for. Thank you

I thought that as well initially but I have also seen posts about it being for a subwoofer.

Ahh, forgot our cars were pre-wired for the sub. You would be correct. Appears 9 pins on that wire bundle, which would be correct for the sub, and too many for trailer lights;-)
