hi everyone, calling all the experts ! I need help identifying a leak at bottom of engine. This leak was pointed out on my 2006 XC70. It's all dry at the top and everything looks good from the hood, but the bottom noticed this leak by the engine. Anyone else experience this? Can someone help pinpoint what it could be, or give me an idea how bad? No drips seem to be on the ground. Thanks much ~Lilly
did you check the o-ring and tightness on the oil filter? I'd also check up top particularly under the rear cam seal covers - they may be hard to see without removing the air box. Also check around the turbo - when the oil return line seal goes it can make a mess. You may need to remove the heat shield (I've only done this on the 850T so your set up may be different). Any oil coming from the bottom of the transmission? Note that when oil starts pushing out through seals its a good idea to check your PCV system as it may be clogged and building pressure in the engine - enough to push out oil through the seals.
