I am having problems with the shifter on my S70. When I park the car I have to hit on the shifter a little to get it to go into park. This doesn't happen all the time. Another problem I am having is that I cant get the key out of the ignition for about 30 seconds. I am sure this has to do with the fact that the car is not in park. Has anyone else had this same problem and what did you do to fix it. Thanks</P>

 

Easy. Get a manual.

 

I had a similar problem with my '98 S70</P>


It was the button on the shift ****. The spring wasn't functioning properly. So after depressing it to shift, I had to manually push on the top of the button to get it to spring back and lock into park. Only after it locks in, can you remove the key.</P>


I am certain this is your problem.</P>
