90s S90
A 97 s90 is for sale in my area and just wanted to drop a line here about these cars. In-line 6, RWD, NA? Kind of a strange car given Volvos line up in the late 90s.
I am not sure I am all that interested in this car - it's in great shape, but I have a 240 and 940 and not so much money to be throwing around on another car.
Still, I wonder - what's the verdict on these cars? Reliable? How difficult are they to work on? What are the known, common issues that arise? Are they fun to drive? The one I saw looks luxurious and comfortable for sure.

The S90 began life as a 960, 1991 was the first year with the inline all aluminum dual overhead cam six - It was Volvos most expensive car. Last year was 1998. The engine family has the 5cyl starting with the 91 850 continuing till 2016? in most Volvos. 4 cyl in the 99-04 s40, and the 6 cyl engine was used sideways in the early 2003+xc90 with turbos and some s80's with or without turbo. All those engines shared some basic components/dimensions.
Engine is reliable, the transmission may be hard to get parts for - It's not the same as a 940.
