93 940 intermitten stalling
HI I purchased a 1993 940 non turbo. I've had it for a few months. once in a while while driving when its below 55 degrees outside the car just dies for no apparent reason. so far its happened at normal street speeds 35 - 45 mph. I changed the plugs, wires, rotor and distributor cap when I got it.

has anyone had this problem & what was the fix? thanks very much.

HI the fuel economy seems to be about where it should be, the car starts up fine every morning, The stall seems to ocur just asthe car gets warmed up. I let it warm up for about a minute before I drive and then it happens after driving about 7 miles or so. the car will start right up after it stall and runs with no problem.

Check the main wiring harness for shorts. Had a similar, not exact, problem. I would be driving, make a turn and the car would die. Minutes later the car would start up without a problem. If the miles are beginning to get up there the harness begins to deteriorate. Just a thought......Others may have differing views....

HEY GANG, thanks for the advice and imput. I finally got the problem sorted out. turns out the throttle plate was pretty gummed up. What would happen is that the plate would get stuck and restrict airflow and cause the stall.
