Default adding refrigerant

1998 V90, need to add R-134a refrigerant. First time adding and wanted to be sure of location of low pressure port. Better safe than sorry. Can someone help me confirm location of valve.
Thanks

On the passneger side of the car by the firewall.Look for a round silver tube.(accumilator)The port is either on the accumilator or next to it.

Just so you know there is only a low side connection on your car. There is no high side fitting.

That would explain why I could only find one valve. I know nothing about a/C first attempt at servicing. I am afraid freon level was so low (almost empty) that it may have damaged bearings in condenser (if it has bearings) . Condenser now runs without kicking off early and is blowing good cold air. However the low whine and vibration that alerted me to the problem is still present. I added additional oil and although quieter it is still sounding like bearings have permanent damage. Can you suggest a good repair manual for this car? Not alot of literature on the v-90 I am guessing due to lowl number of v-90s made? Thanks

Im really not sure of manuals off hand.Have you looked for HAYNES or CHILTONS?Also is the noise present all the time or just when the a/c is on?

Yes, i used chiltons with other cars. I will look online. No stores or library have either manual for v-90. Does the v-70 share the same engine? I am not familiar with v-70, is that the sedan version with same engine?
Yes the noise is present only when the a/c button is on. I misspoke earlier. I meant compressor not condenser. Sorry. (I was called into work at 3am still trying to wake up) When I first noticed the noise and vibration the compressor would only stay on for 30 sec. then would kick out and not restart. I got under the car and it was easy to isolate the source.
As soon as I put my hand on the compressor. As I added refrig and oil, the compressor would stay on a little longer. Adding was a long process. First 10 times compressor kicked off, would not restart without 20 off. I assumed it was overheating due to lack of oil in the bearings and cutting off. As more ref and oil got added it ran longer and quieter. I can still feel a vibration towards back of motor but not like initial vibration. It no longer cuts out. Systtem pressure is great and Its blowing good cold air. Failey loud Low whining and some vibration still present. Serpintine belt looks old, but it has good tension. I put some belt dressing on with no result. The timing and serpentine belts are next repair I needed manual for timing and serpintine belts. And of coarse the ac which I know nothing about.

The compressor is probably just old.You can replace the compressor if you want. You might get 2 years out of it like that.Or you may get a month out of it.I would say let it go till it doesn't work.It could also be the clutch making that noise.

Also when you do the timing belt let me give you some advise.Buy a new tensioner and idler pulleys and new tensioner it is hydrolic. This will save trouble in the long run.In the past I have seen them lock up and throw the belt. Then about $2000.00 later it is running again.

The V70 is a front wheel drive 5 cylinder. If you can find a book for the 960 most of it is the same as the V90.Little things are diffrent.
