Early P1800 "barn find"
Well, it isn't exactly in a barn. I wish it was. As you can see (hopefully I did it right), It is sitting outside under trees. This car has been given to me by a friend I met in church. It is an early P1800 having the "beehive" front grill. I am trying to decide how to proceed. The car exterior is covered with rust. I cannot find any areas that have rusted through. I have not seen underneath or inside. I will probably accept it and move it to a friend's shop so as to be able to do a closer inspection. Worst case would be to part it out. I would like to find a good P1800 to restore using this car for a parts source. I had an early P1800 and really enjoyed it. I am now on my 14th Volvo. The only model I do not remember owing is the Bertone model. I would appreciate any feedback that P1900 fans have to offer.
Thanks,
Jim Walton

Hi Ed,
Thanks for you message. I think you are right. I plan to move it to a space that will let me do a complete inspection. Apparently the engine was rebuilt but never installed. I do not know how long ago this was done. I think this will probably be a part car. I am actively looking for a better example. Thanks again, Jim
