Fix-it Suggestions for a 1967 122s
So I recently bought a 1967 Volvo 122s. Since I've owned it (which has been about a week) I've noticed little things that need to be done to it. Also, I'm a total newbie, but I'm trying to delve into the world of car mechanics because it's something that highly interests me.
The idling speed needs to be adjusted. It idles too high. I tried to tweak it by adjusting the screw on the carb, and when I start the engine it seems to run perfect. But after I ride around town for a bit, I'll come to a stop and the idle speed will be extremely low and sometimes it will stall out. How exactly do I adjust the idle speed correctly?
The suspension is starting to make creaking sounds. And it's starts to get worse the longer the drive I take is.
When I bought the vehicle, the speedometer and odometer went out on the drive home. How exactly do I figure out what I need to replace with this?
Also, it seems like the engine burns more oil than it should. Should I replace the piston rings?
