Hi, I'm trying to figure out what each wire is that plugs into the back of the stereo is, it's not the normal yellow for constant, red for Acc. and black for ground, it's all different.

the wiring diagrams I find say it should be:

Constant: Yellow
Acc.: Red
Ground: Black
Illumination: Orange

Front Door Speakers:
Left + Blue/yellow
Left - White
Right + Gray/white
Right- Gray

Rear deck Speakers:
Left + Yellow/Brown
Left - Yellow/Green
Right + Green/brown
Right - Green

None of these wires appear. the previous owner had a multi-disc Cd player installed and there's a little box tucked behind the radio that has the standard Yellow, Red and Black wires running from it and the person who installed it tapped into the stock stereo wires and from what I can figure it's as this

Constant: Red/Black
Acc. Yellow/Black
Ground: Black

There's 3 solid black wires running into the plug, I don't understand it, I can't find an accurate diagram anywhere, can you guys Please direct me in the right direction?

What kind of head unit?

 

I have the same problem as Jesse94. I'm needing to replace the stock stereo that is in my daughter's 1996 850 GLT.
The wiring diagrams I can find say: Constant: Yellow
Acc.: Red
Ground: Black
Illumination: Orange

There's no solid yellow wire, there's no solid red wire, there are 3 black wires.
The stereo has a cd player, a casette player, and a amp, all as one unit.

There are two wiring harness'
The colors for the speakers don't see to lineup with what I can find either.
