2004 S40 Audio Wiring

Default 2004 S40 Audio Wiring

I'm adding a sub amp to my wifes S40 -2004 and need to know where the best spot is to get to the speaker leeds so i can wire in my PAC trunk loc level converteradapter. Also color codes if possible of the speaker wires.

hmmm...LOC eh? Well, I guess if you're going hook up a sub then the best place to access the wires would be the trunk. There's no reason to take the dash appart or get behind the stereo....the signal at the end of the wire'll be the same as the signal at the front. Most bass comes from the rear channel anyway so it'll be pretty convienient. As for a wireing diagram, you only really need to know that the wire with a black line on it somehow is the negative lead. Since bass comes from both channels you can take your pick of which one to splice into.

Did you already buy your converter? Something to concider is that most newer amps these days already have a LOC built into them. They usually come with a nifty little wireharness that'll support both left and right rear channels. that way (if the amps big enough) you could hook up a few more speakers too.
