don't worry about it, i figured out what double DIN is

 

Um ok. Double Din (DD) shouldn't have been hard to figure out. That is the size of the OEM radios in Volvo's.

There was a writeup on VS about the BlitzSafe Ipod adapter and it is gone now.

But the install is really simple.

1. Before you do anything go to your local Volvo dealer and get your radio code, your going to need it.

2. Remove the Double Din (DD) headunit by pressing in the tabs on the side. Once they pop out pull on them to remove the HU.

3. Disconnect the wiring harnesses from the back of the HU and also remove your CD Changer cord as well.

Now I would have to go back out and look at what I did, but I am not going to.

in my xc70 its not a 'normal' headunit. its integrated like in this picture http://www.v70xc.com/2005-xc70/0/woo...console-tn.jpg but instead of the phone there is a cup holder.

i found a guide on removing the headunit and that all seems simple enough, but my main problem is getting something to fit the area properly. all the double DIN headunits ive looked at are square.. will i be able to cut the spare plastic off the stock 'face plate' and fabricate it in there? are there adapters or anything that can make this easier? i thought about just amplifying the stock stereo, but im not sure that will give me what i want.

I know your's is a 95 but the shape should be the same. You should be able retrofit it into place

No

Unless you make some "Y" adapter piece that you can connect both an IPOD adapter to and your CD Changer to and the other part into the back of your HU.

And I don't know if this will actually work.
