Default Garmin Nuvi 765 - made for Volvo vs. regular

You can get today from Cartoys or Amazon a regular Nuvi 765 for $200 that comes with the FM traffic receiver in the 12V plug (with lifetime traffic service) and the suction cup mount, it has bluetooth, MP3 player and FM transmitter.
I really like however the Nuvi 765 that is made for Volvo, it comes in the box with the clamshell bracket that mounts on the dashboard, so there are no visible wires. When you add the unit, the wiring kit needed and labor it gets expensive - over $800. It's even more if you add the FM traffic receiver (GTM 10) that is also made for Volvo.
So before spending this kind of money, does anyone know if the GPS unit's audio output is sent via the wiring into the car stereo for superior sound quality or the FM transmitter is used (lower quality)? If the wiring is only powering the unit and not sending the audio signal, it's not worth it. I own a 2005 Volvo XC90 with High Performance audio.

do you know if the volve gps shuts off input if the car is moving. That is a really annoying feature. I personally have my garmin mounted using velcro. Its awesome cause it looks clean and i plug it into the back seat outlet.

I just did the install myself. I got the install kit for about $140 and I got the Garmin 765 from Volvo second hand off of eBay for $150.

The GPS doesn't lock up when the car is in movement, which is nice. However I did not get the TMC (traffic) kit. That was another $88 for the wires. Without the kit, the Garmin has the built in FM transmitter. It's pretty shotty sounding. I'm not sure if it will feed directly into the wires if you add the TMC kit. By looking off of the install instructions - you piggyback off of the FM cables to get the traffic, however I'm not sure if that improves the sound to it.
