help learning systems
I found this good site off of google that talks about the basics in electronics and audio bet it doesn't really explain it in depth. I don't think I'm getting this right so I need someones help to explain this whole concept so I can understand how I will wire my subs up and get a good amp.
I have two audiobahn AW121T subwoofers.
Right now I'm thinking of getting a mono amp and hooking them up in a parallel connection. So when an amp says it will make 800W x 1 RMS at 2 Ohms each sub on this kind of a set up would be getting 400 watts? I'm really stumped here, also they say lower ohms puts a bigger load on the amp, this would be bad right? lol
Right now I'm looking at two amps to be the supply for the subs. They are...
- 3600W Pyle Dryver PLAD3300D Mono Block MOSFET Digital Amp
- 1500W Mono Block Class D Amp w/Remote SoundStorm F1500D
I don't really want to run 4 ohms or more because that means less amps to the sub, but I don't want to wire something up and it be to much and BOOM, I lose money 'cause something fried. At first I was going to run one amp per sub at the 4ohm setting but it would run me $300 for the two subs and they were A/B class.
Thanks to who ever saves me!

RE: help learning systems
Im no expert. I really don't even go by all the Readings. Thats just me. Usually when it says like 800 watts x1 that means 800 watts when Bridged. Which is Both the power wires from the speaker together and both the negative wires together. Then there is a certain spot in the Amp that they need to go into.
Like for example. In my car I have a Boss 320 watt Amp. Feeding 2 Serwin Vega's. (Yah I know Small Amp)When I hook them up normal it is 160 amps per speaker that =320 watts total. If you Bridge it that supplies 320 Watts at all times to each speaker.
Thats how I run all of mine. I LOVE BASS.

You could afford it I'm sure, getting it would probably be more costly then the actual engine. It's a 351 4 bolt main, whole engine. I'm going to strip it down and give all the parts a wash to clean up, then inspect it. I want to build it up to go into a mustang.

I found this site extremely helpful in the figuring out how to wire subs into and amp.
