Ok this post might be completely retarded but here goes. I'm thinking of replacing the stereo in my '01 V70 2.4T with an Eclipse AVN2210P that I already own. I know I can get the double DIN face plate from Volvo but how would I mount the stereo in it? The stereo didn't come with a metal cage like I've seen most people use. It just has various screw holes on the sides. Could I just screw it to the double DIN dash kit?

 

Id assume thats what youd have to do. Its hard to find the cages seperate. Youll have to take a look at the kit yourself I guess and make that judgment. I know that for example in newer Ford F150s, a double din is screwed to the dash kit and doesn't use the cage, so its just vehicles specific.
