Default HU-613 Radio Issue

New poster, and am learning a lot from the site! Here's my question

I bought a used MY02 S60 with a HU-613 radio that is not the original (doesn't match perfect). The radio functionsand sounds great, however none of the buttons light up and the steering mounted controls don't work. Can anyone give advise on what to look for?

Thanks in advance.

If it is a replacement unit it needs software update by dealer.

what do you mean by "doesn't match perfect"? Do you mean fisically?

I am searching for a solution to my HU-613 radio problem. My radio is the original factory radio but, all of a sudden the radio buttons quit lighting up and the radio controls on the steering wheel quit working. The radio works just great except for those 2 problems. I see that the solution to Zucatti's similar problem was a software update. Would this also work for an original radio? The dealer says I need a new radio ($700!). By the way, we replace the fuse and the problem is solved but just for a a short while. It keeps coming back.
