iPod Connector for a 5G iPod
Hi....thanks for viewing my post message.
I am buying a 2007 S60R. I have a 2006 XC70 with a iPod adapter for 5G iPod. My dealer tells me that it is no longer available and there is any iPod connector that is compatible with the audio system in my new S60R. Any suggestions or links to products that you might think will work?
Thanks in advance.

RE: iPod Connector for a 5G iPod
I have to find where I put my paperwork, but I had something aftermarket installed for my iPod integration, cause the dealer told me there were none available for my 04 S60 R through the dealer. Once I track down the paperwork tomorrow or tuesday I'll post with what it is, cause I'm blanking trying to think of it right now.

RE: iPod Connector for a 5G iPod
Ok hope this helps... first off with your stereo between the CD slot and the stereo screen it has to say "RDS" I have the upgraded stereo in mine, so I don't know if they all have RDS or not. However since yours is newer you're probably good to go. The system is the Kenwood KOS-A200 External Media Controller with RDS Encoder. They pulled out my stereo and installed it behind it and I have the wire coming out the little storage spot/cup holder(depending on which you have) thats in the stack beside the stereo so there are no wierd wires coming anywhere then right out of the dash into my iPod, and nothing is visible so it doesnt look like an aftermarket afterthought which was very important to me. This was the only system that the stereo company was 100% certain would work with my car and the HU-803 stereo, there are others out there but they weren't sure about them. The only downfall to the system is it costs about $400 with labor and it plugs into the bottom of the iPod not the headphone jack, so you can't charge your iPod AND listen to it, you only get to do one or the other. Hope that helps...
