i dont have an ipod but i might but what i was wondering is if anyone who is savy with electrical stuff coulld tell me how to hardwire a headphone jack to my stereo. I do not have the stock unit i have a kenwood head unit. Something that plugs into my headphone jack of the mp3 player. thanks

Why not just get an adapter kit that works with your HU?

because i got this one on sale and it was the step below the one that can use the adapter this one cant take any kind.

They are a nice thought, but IMO they are ****ty.

My girlfriend has one and I swear if you touch the damn thing it goes into static mode. Just not good sound quality or anything.

You probably need a wiring diagram for the cd changer/aux input on your stereo - if you don't have an aux or cd changer input it's probably not doable without major resoldering inside the unit it's self.

IIRC most changer connections contain two standard "phono" lines to sound, one for each channel just like a HiFi with the rest being power and control lines. You should be able to solder the phono lines to a headphone jack (male or female).
