My wife has a 2008 Volvo V70. We purchased it in 2010 from an active duty service member, who purchased it in Europe and brought it back to the US.

The bluetooth just stopped working and my local a/v shop thinks the control unit is dead. It had the OEM'd Motorola T16 in it - Volvo 31260762 / Motorola part VL71033.

Will a non-Volvo Motorola T16 unit work? Or did Motorola write any special software for the OEM module? Having trouble finding the Volvo part but have found a couple of Motorola branded or Toyota OEM'd T16 bluetooth control units online.
