Got some questions on the sound system on these cars. We've got the Premium Sound System in the S60 (2007) and it's really a bit lame. There's no low end... no bass.... [sm=noooo.gif] Now, we're not 65 and don't do the elevator music scene, so we're really wanting something that will sound better. Honestly, the sound system in the S40 was MUCH better. It can't touch the system in my Titan, but then, it's not stock either......[sm=smiley20.gif]

First off, I haven't removed any grilles yet to check, but does anyone know what types and brand of speakers come stock in this car?

Second, what, if anything, can we do, with minimal intrusion, to make this sound system actually sound good? I know I can fill the trunk with subs, but I'm not in highschool either, so a BOOMER back there isn't really an option. [sm=icon_rock.gif]

I'd like to keep the slightly upscale "taste" of the car but enhance the system a bit.

Any ideas? Suggestions?

Can't answer your specific questions but can confirm what you're saying about s60 sound system. I had an 04 s60 with premium sound and it wasn't very premium.

when I just got my old 98 v70 couple months ago I was really pleasantly surprised. Very good sound system. As good as the range rover we used to own and better than the jag xjr's system. Go figure.
