USA Spec PA11-VOL IPOD Battery Drain?
I am considering hooking up the usa-spec ipod adpater but I am concerned that it will burn out the battery on my ipod. IOW-I once plugged my cell phone into a cigarrette lighter and it never held a charge the same again. Would only hold for a day or so where it used to hold a charge for 3-4 days depending on talk time. I don't want to shorten the life of my Ipod battery which is currently around 16-18 hrs. Anyone had any expereicen with this one way or the other?
I have heard of sittuations where the charger or item being charged does not have a full voltage switch on it. It burns out the batteries like you said. Remember back in the day the phone chargers that would blink on a fully charged battery? it was a little breaker capacitor on the inside of those chargers that would turn off at full charge but turn on the minute the phone battery died a little....hence the insistant blinking. you can still buy them at Walmart I think...but most chargers (or chargable equipment) these days will shut down at a full charge.
...'coarse you could just avoid the uncertainty and unplug the i-pod when you're not using it..... ;-)

you shouldnt have a problem with it at all. Volvos IPOD kit is built to apple specification and is recommended, as long as it is the volvo kit you are putting in you shouldnt have to worry about it.
