First off, there is no kit.
And if you would require a pre-made "kit" to do an engine swap, then you're better off with buying a car with the swap already done, when money, time and nerves are taken into account. And i mean FAR better.

As for the LS engine in a 855/V70 car, the idea itself make no sense at all: it's a unibody, tightly engineered FWD car, and swapping a V8 inside would require cutting entire underside of the car and engineering everthing from zero. My reckon is that at the end, more Chevrolet parts (for front suspension, transmission, whole rear suspension and diff, etc) would have to be used, and then you would lose the point of that Volvo base, wouldn't you?

Even if you, after quite a few years of work and tens of thousands $, would finish it, what you would have would be a oddly-looking Volvo that would be burning rear tires, but besides that, it would have performances of a Daewoo, ride quality, sound and overall feeling of a Chevy truck and structural rigidity of a Yugo, which probably wouldn't pass any regulation on Earth...

Therefore, I wouldn't even consider doing it.

My best advice would be to either take that 850 as is, and either turbocharge it, or if it is already turbocharged, BOOST it MORE and tweak suspension a bit and have a monster that would outrun most of the LS-powered cars and would have handling that thoe cars couldn't. Ever.

Or...find a 200, 700 or 900 series car, since they are RWD and even tougher built, thus would require much less work to accomodate a V8. Some of them even came with a V6 (that itself can be good for some 600hp, if you put enough money into it), so you could go that way, to...or, just add more BOOST to some of their turbocharged "Red Block" engines, that are basically, nukeproof.

However, if you want to go fully hardcore, take a 300 series...
