Default Polishing tail lights?

The tail lights on my car have no shine to them at all. They almost look like they were lightly sandblasted. Has anyone ever polished there tail lights. I am wondering if headlight polish would work on them.

Headlight restoration products give the same general results on tail lenses.

Let me ask, do they look or feel chalky or flakey at all?

Are you working by hand or machine?

I used to do (and still do from time to time) this sort of thing professionally.

Feel free to ask or PM questions and post pictures.

Good luck with it!

I would probably do this by hand. I do have a polisher but I don't want to hurt the paint if I accidently went over any of it. They don't really look chalky more just like all the shine is gone.

By all means, try the headlight polish or even a good paint polish. Obviously, it will take more work by hand than machine, but that's OK if it gets the job done.

Have some rubbing alcohol or adhesive removal solvent handy. If you start rubbing and the surface is too rough and porous, it might just absorb your polish and end up staining. Wiping over with the alcohol or solvent will pull the excess out.
