Default Wax??

Can anyone recommend a good wax? I can't decide if I should drop the $100.00 for Zaino's kit. Someone said Zymol is good and Mother's is okay also. I am looking for a wax that will not attract dust, pollen, and dirt. Any recommendations? Thanks

Zymol works okay, but here in DFW seems like doesn't last too long - tops 60 days. Best stuff used lately is Meguire's NXT, easy on, great shine, booster spray product works well. Other than Meguire's 26, seems to be best, IMOHO. All depends how often you want to play detail shop and what condition you're starting with...happy hunting.

I can also vouch for Meguairs NXT. However I don't think it last any longer than 60 days either.

There has been quite a bit of discussion about this in this forum
http://www.volvo-forums.com/t6778-po...-39-s-good.htm

Others have used Zymol Cleaner Wax and swears by that, preferring that over NXT. Main reason qouted was it was easier to finish/remove. I have not tried Zymol because we don't get them in New Zealand.

Visiting Zymol's website I see they also have a specially fomulated, more expensive Hand Crafted Wax developed with Volvo. It appears to have a higher concentration of Carnuba Wax. Sounds good but have yet to hear anyone using that yet.

Having used Zymol for sometime, I found NXT a bit easier to remove -- just the wieght of a Terry towel does it, as long as you let it dry completely. THe other thing I prefer is that if you get some on black plastic trim it doesn't stain it, Zymol turns white then need to use mineral spirits to remove :-))

Use the NXT wax-paste. If you use the paste there is less waste.

Cheers

I use Mothers: California Gold; Carnauba Cleaner Wax. I will say this, it is the best wax I have ever used.

And I have used many waxes before.

I am going to try their clay baring system soon before winter starts.

Also try the new Turtle Wax "ICE" product. Comes in a spray bottle, easy on and off, shines great, and if you get it on the trim, it actually makes the black trim look better.Does not turn white or leave a wax residue. Not sure about durability yet, but seems to work quite well. BJ

I use meguiars cleaner wax to get the paint nice and clean then I put a nice shine on the car with Turtle wax ICE.

That is a great gloss and easy to put on and wipe off.

S100...P21S relabeled for motorcycles, same formula but cheaper. Easier to use and will out perform all of the above carnuaba based "waxes". How bout that Zymol Volvo wax or their estate wax too...damn good stuff.

Best bang for the buck waxes are Lusso Oro and Chemical Guys Pete's 53. Both run about $40 for 8oz. Now if you want the ultimate in look go for a little more $$ and get Rubbish Boys Original Edition or Dodo Rubbish Boys Juiced Edition for about $80 each for 8oz. I've used Swissvax Saphir ($140 for 8 oz) but I think Rubbish Boys OE is better and cheaper.
