2017 / 2018 Volvo XC90 feedback
Thanks in advance for your feedback. I've owned Volvos throughout the years, currently own a C70, love the 5 cylinder motor. Considering a 2017 or 2018 XC 90 T5. Concerned about the 4 cylinder turbo in such a large vehicle. Can't seem to find any reliability posts regarding the pros and cons for the T5 turbo vs the T6 twin turbo. I'm looking for the best reliability. Called mom and pop volvo repair garages, the mechanics say its too early to pass an opinion. Would love to hear your feedback. Thank you
The T6 is not twin turbo. It is twin charged- using a supercharger and a turbocharger.
The Drive-E engines have been around since 15. Early ones had some oil consumption issues. Haven't had any of those on a 2017 or 2018 though. Hard to predict long term reliability with only 4 years of data though.
