looking into doing a rwd conversion on my 850 turbo wagon looking for info on transmissions that might work with the stock engine I know I would need the rear stuff from the awd model to make this work have found one for parts.... any help would be great thanks a head of time

 

all you would need to do is get a 960 RWD tranny, custom engine mounts to turn the engine the RWD way, cut out a tunnel in the floor for a driveshaft, get a 960 rear diff and suspension, find a way to mount it.. have a custom driveshaft made, and find a way to wire the engine (Extending plugs, possible rearaning of engine bay)

 

Having owned both types of cars, this project makes no sense. It's like trying to turn a square into a circle.

Is this a hobby-project, and do you have unlimited funds and time?

If you like RWD, just sell the 850, and buy a RWD volvo. If you want Turbo, there are plenty of turbo RWD too (240s, 740s, 940s).
