Hi! Big time Volvo fan here, extensive 740-60 experience, but I have had a few v70s and now this 850. I REALLY like the v70 front end, and I love the 850 interior. I happened to get this really nice running 95 850 for a song, and its silver/black (fav colors on a turbo volvo). I had a v70 parts car by chance, and I took all, and I mean all of the need parts to convert the front end. I will be painting them the same color as the 850. The donor car had the cool spoiler and some really nice rims, was a 98 awd with sport package. Already put those on... I will be doing a nice stage 0 and the looks before I ever worry about going any faster.. 222 hp is enough for my town at the moment! I have looked and looked and I cannot find anyone who has done this conversion, for whatever reason.

So, I shall be the first! (this is a call out for anyone who has am 850 with v70 EXTERIOR to contact me as Id love to see it done)

This should take about 3 hours at most, it all came off easy from the donor.

Totally agree. I've got an 850t and a V70 T5, both of which will soon be 5 speeds, and I can't decide which to keep. I love the 850 inside, and the V70 outside. I keep reaching down to the center console to open my windows, only to realize the switch isn't there.

In a perfect world, if by chance I could find all the parts local, I'd go with the 850 and a V70 front end, but I'd use the XC bumper. I've got one on my V70 currently and I like the look.

Personal preference, obviously...

 

Hi there! Ill try to get pics, but I have successfully converted my 850 into a v70 exterior! I have not painted the panels yet so it looks funky, but you be the judge when I get pics... the body shape is awesome. Only the two front fender bolts didnt line up, rear bumper was a bit different but fit beautifully... hood latches were easy... then I saw bubbles in my overflow tank long story did all steps its a gasket. SO when I am done with that Ill take her to the mountains and get some poses! Later! And thanks for the reply!
