Default continous soft air sound after brake pedal depressed

Hello everyone!
We have an 2002 XC-70 that we picked up at the factory- absolutely worth the trip & has been just a great car/work horse. It'sobviously nosports car but still was a blast on the Autobahn.
In the last several weeks, my wife has mentioned a soft hissing air sound after she releases the brake pedal & ceases upon pressing the pedal. Some kind of a vaccum leak perhaps. It was initially quite faint but has become more noticeable.
I've been trying to pinpoint the source yet to find it- under dash area. The next spot will be to listen near the brake master cyl while she actuates the brake pedal on/off.
Any advice & has anyone had this issue? Possible costs related to the issue?

Thankyou.
Alex

Sounds like a bad brake booster.
