main bearings
Hey Volvo Pros!
I need help with replacing main end rod bearings and all that goes with.
1998.s70 the engine is out upside down opened down to the crank.
only the bottom is open.
Started with knocking sound.Followed the "mechanic"s I opened the engine from the bottom...deeper and deeper to check the bearings...
Now the engine is out and it was the flexplate!broken.
Lack of money i gotta do it myself.Ordered some parts and i'm ready to go
Anyone can help with anything i would love to hear it! the best would be a step by step....and important little tricks! But you know ..any help!
Thanks ,csirke

If you need help finding parts let me know. I had a bit of trouble finding rings and main bearings( as you can see from the thread).
Be careful taking the top of the head off, I broke mine. The cam seals can get hung up on one end but not the other so one end of the cam stays in the lower head and the other tries to lift out with the top head. There is a narrow thrust plate that is very brittle and will crack easily.
