1999 V70R 173,000 miles. 3rd owner (Dealer maintained to 140,000 miles).

This is a repost because i wrote the wrong title in my last post... Basically, I have a vertical hairline crack in the engine block on the exhaust manifold side behind the main water pipe... think on/near the water journal?

I've been leaking coolant for about 1-2 months but just kept filling up the reservoir (stupid on my part). The car does not leak at an idle, only when the RPM's reach 3000 do you see coolant leaking from the crack.

For precise location of crack... look below the exhaust manifold on the block side adjacent to the water pump that runs around to the radiator eventually.

PLEASE HELP, I don't know what to do...

1) Are there sealants/compounds that will work?
2) Can we weld it?
3) Replace engine or is the car junk?

I've owned Volvo (850's) for 10 years and I don't know what to do with my beloved V70
