Hi there! I have a 2007 Volvo XC90 with a manual parking brake that is not working. The light comes on but I can drive forward and backwards. Also a warning alarm comes on when I drive forward. What is the issue if I have plenty of brake pads left? Please help!

 

It doesn't use the brake pads. You need to have the rotors removed to inspect the parking brake. Could be damaged shoes, damaged retaining springs, sticking expanses, sticking cables, etc.
