Default coolant message

I have a 2012 s80 awd t6. my coolant message came on saying coolant low stop safely. There is coolant in the reservoir and fluid in the radiatior. my mechanic said there might be a air pocket in the line. Has any one had this problem? He wants to flush out the fluid.
Thanks

I'm not sure where the coolant level sensor is on your vehicle, but the cars (GM) I have worked on in the past had them in the reservoir tank. It is possible there is an air bubble in the tank right at the sensor on those. A few light taps with a hammer used to clear that message right out.
Unless you are at the service interval for your car or if the coolant looks like brown, I wouldn't pay for a flush. Either tap on the sensor on the tank or find a new mechanic.

So today the message did not come on at all. I have a feeling whatever they did yesterday might have reset the sensor. I just tapped the cap now, fluid looks green not brown. Not sure what miles I should be doing a service on that. I'm at 77,000 mi.
