I received spam via P/M from new member Serendipity. Anyone else?

On the subject of spam the above is a label I incurred after my very first post in my Fireblades (motorcycle) forum. It was a newborn again biker's perspective on an old fave Michelin tyre and included some derisive humour about Generation (Little) Meee's need for speed.. in line with Gandhi's, "More to life than making it go faster."

It also added fuel to a longheld thought. Being that the internet is a place where adults rub shoulders with children as equals sometimes tis easier to pass beneath the "spam-buster's" radar by dumbing down one's comments unto graffiti/SMS-speak. The Mee generation is also the "E" generation. Perhaps now is the hour for baby boomers to seize back some parental power and redefine this misused example of Espeak.. (referring to "spam" here).

I deleted the PM, but I seem to recall it being a rant to join some fanatical religious organization. I'm quite comfortable with my own church, thank you.

Seems as if serendipity is alive and well, I just got one, the time was 3am. He left a quote from pema chodron too. Will be deleting. Bad volvo spammer!

Clever Serendipity

How did he (are there any female members here?) manage to PM us without an identity? Hidden talents obviously. If anyone followed up on Pema Chodron "she" is actually quite good. (I especially liked her comment that a spiritual teacher is a pain in the proverbial.) I get the feeling that Serendipity wouldn't actually know.. that he is just feeling his way or he would be talking to us about what "he" thinks rather than quoting "her." Certainly I don't believe there is a conspiracy afoot :-)

We are working on it. If you can Forward me the PM you got.
That name is not even showing as an active member here.

I sent all the info in this post to the Web people for the site and they are looking into it.
