Hello all! I am new to the forum. This is my 5th Volvo, but it has been 6 years since my last. We recently purchased an '05 XC90 and need to replace the tires. I am wondering if ya'll could barrage me with your opinions as to which tires are best. It's a FWD 2.5. Thanks in advance!!

 

first question is what are your needs - do you drive up north and need something that can handle snow or do you do winter tire change overs? One of my cars is a 04 Toyota Highlander with 200K miles (so its probably on its 4th set of tires) and run snows in the winter so the summer tires are all season "touring". We've run Toyos (nice ride, quiet but wear more quickly than others), Yohamas Avids (nice all season but not agressive to run year round). My best value selection was General Altimax RT43 which wore nicely.
