I have joined the volvo crowd with a 1983 760 turbodiesel 5spd with OD, with 38k original miles. Old mans car who parked it in 2001 due to age. fortunately it was in a garage and is a time capsule. The owner moved to Valhalla. Battery was jumped, and it fired easily on the first click! I have looked all over the internet (with my 66yr old computer skills) and can't find production numbers for north america. Closest I got was they were sold in the USA towards the end of that year. Can one of you gear heads tell me how many made it to the US in 1983? Ive been a car guy all my life and believe there are some special finds which should be respected more and not turned into a daily driver. A funny thing is happening...i've been into fast cars forever. My last build was an 800hp 2JZ powered E36 M3. The more I read about this car, the more excited I get.....to experience all this car has which makes it special, speed not being one of them. I think my age is sneaking in and looking forward to being able to easily slide into a comfortable seat to rest my herniated discs, instead of the gyrations I go through to get in and out of my 200k mile daily driver C6 Vette. I say thanks in advance to anyone willing to help me with this. I'm sure I will have lots more to learn once i need to turn a wrench on a motor I know nothing about.

ps It has an 8hr drive to home. Other than fluids and tires, is there something that needs attention after such a long slumber?
