May I ask the best way to sell my mother's car? I am in Orange County, CA. It needs a new battery. Body perfect shape but not the paint. Can I sell it as is or is it worth fixing up?

There is a pretty strong following for those old models. My suggestion is to get a lot of pictures of it and then put on eBay no reserve. Someone will probably restore it and give it an awesome coat of new paint.

 

Autotrader.com has a good following as well. You can also post for free on the volvo classified board here as well. Do your research to get a sense of market value. reminds me of when I acquired my son's 2000 S40. I took it to our local dealer for an all points inspection and to get me "into the system" for recalls/bulletins - The service manager asked how I got so lucky to find a 10 year old car in perfect condition with 26,000 miles. My reply was "It was easy. I took the keys from my mom and that was it..."
