1994 850 turbo dayco timing belt tensioner
Hello, recently purchased a 1994 850 turbo in great shape. I just did the timing belt service, however the tensioner was not available anywhere other than Autozone. Its a dayco branded tensioner. Has anyone ha any experience with this brand and its tensioners?
Assume you already installed the tensioner so you should be good for another 70K miles. There's quite a few after market providers - Volvo stores like FCP and IPD usually have some knowledge of the aftermarket vs OEM vendors
Rockauto lists 5 manufacturers for the hydraulic part:
Dayco
Aisin
Gates
ITM
Professional Parts Sweden.
These are early/late items. There are different fits before and after engine number 131155 and then again it looks like there's a break point at 148582, Aisin makes 2, PPS makes 2, Gates, Dayco, and ITM only make one. the dayco doesn't say on Rockauto what engine numbers it fits.
These things all cost the same, and so I guess they're all pretty okay. Dayco is a respectable belts-and-hoses brand and it's possible somebody else made their piston.
