Hello all! I bought a 1998 Volvo S70 about a month ago as a fun project / car I've always wanted. Replaced the PCV system, Brakes all around, Control Arms, Rebuilt both CV Axles, tie rods, sway bar linkages, etc, and I have to say THANKS TO ROBERT DIY AND THIS FORUM for providing so much help and information.

Here is the one and only remaining quirk/challenge I have with this car.

The dang parking brake light on the dash will not turn off. Not the brake light that tells you when there is low fluid levels, the parking brake light. It is faintly lit when the parking brake is disengaged, and becomes brighter when the parking brake is engaged.

I thought, easy fix, replace the switch! I just replaced the switch with a brand new Volvo part and it made no difference. Before I go insane trying to figure this out, has anyone come across this before? If someone can point me in the right direction, I would really appreciate it. The car looks, runs and drives like it is brand new and this light will keep me up at night if I don't fix it.

the faint light suggests a grounding problem. I'd go back to the switch with a VOM to see if you have voltage on both sides, then check the wiring diagram for the next junction point to see if you have a weak ground or fray somewhere
