Default 2001 S40 HU-615 Radio

The radio stations and cassette player works fine on my 2001 S40 Factory Radio model HU-615. However the CD is not working and has a CD stock inside. It would not eject at all. Is it worth repairing this radio oris it better to installa new aftermarket radio. Please advise

I would not replace the HU-615. These units are incredible and full of gadgets. Besides, It was custom made for you particular car, unlike an aftermarket unit, which is only a universal.

Keeping your original keeps your dash in optic harmony, unlike a different one which will have smaller buttos, different lighting, etc. It's just as easy as disconecting your battery for a couple of hours (MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE CODE FOR YOUR STEREO PRIOR TO DOING THIS AS THIS WILL ENGAGE THE ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM IN YOUR RADIO AND WON'T WORK AGAIN UNLESS YOU ENTER THE CODE WHEN PROMPTED. CONTACT YOUR LOCAL VOLVO DEALER WITH YOUR VEHICLE'S VIN NUMBER IF YOU DON'T HAVE THE CODE)When you plug in your battery again and enter the code on your radio, it should eject the cd. if this doesn't work then tryremoving the head unit by pressing on the pull-out hinges on either side of the unit. Unplug it completly, and open it up to take out the cd. If your not machanically incline, I would recomend you take it to your Volvo dealer and have them take it out.

Any way, you can get another one of these units on ebay for aprx. $50.00

Good luck
