2001 v70 transmission problem
#2
I hope im posting in the proper place as im new to this.
I recently purchased 2001 v70. Now i have a major transmission problem.
Drove it yesterday. Drove like a new car. Pulled to my house and when i tried to back up i had no reverse. And no forward. This morning same thing. Drove fine then no reverse then no forward.
Fluid level is fine but smells burnt. Does the fluid possibly need changed or is this an electronic issue?
CEL light on and dash says service transmission. Appreciate any help.

i asked about a transmission problem a few weeks ago and not one person could give any advise or any info. what i found out by google is these cars 2000 up to 2007 i think have a major problem VOLVO should have covered but didnt. you can have the transmission serviced but with out any gears im going to say what the transmission shop told me is it needs a rebuild. although mine just has the trans service light on. cost aprox 2500 to 4500 depending on where you go. good luck getting any of these AWESOME guys to respond. rolls eyes ....

A lot of people come here, contribute nothing and expect everything. Then they whine when someone does not hold their hand and fix their car over the internet.
You didn't pay anything to be here and those who help don't get paid to be here. I get paid to fix them at work and I get paid to help people on other websites. So that comes first.

lmfao, i didnt expect anything but advise.and contribute nothing? i just gave this guy some FREE advise after not one other "member" has.. i dont want someone "holding my hand or fixing my car over the internet" that just sounds stupid.... and if i felt like i would get some help here i would not have a problem paying any dues but it looks like you all expect money for advise? hmm wheres my payment?

No. No one expects money here. And since no one is paid, there isn't any guarantee or promise everyone will get help.
I help when I can, but paid work comes first obviously. And if I'm not here for a few days, I'm not going to go over all the posts I missed.
You did contribute nothing. The 2000 is different than 01 and later. Volvo should have covered it? Covered what? They covered any problems when in warranty. They are not obligated to repair cars that are 14 years old for free. So not posting would have been better that wrong info. Thanks though.
